Temperature Control Function
 

The initial set temperatures when the appliance is turned on are:

bullet- 20°C for the Freezer
bullet3°C for the Refrigerator

Pressing either the ‘Freezer Temp.’ Button or the ‘Fridge Temp.’ Button will allow the customer to change the compartment temperature to the desired setting.

bulletThe Freezer Temperatures range from between - 14°C to - 25°C
bulletThe Refrigerator Temperatures range from between 1°C to 7°C

Note

The Refrigerator Temperature Sensor has a temperature range of - 9°C to 30°C. This can cause the refrigerator compartment to be over or under cooled if the air flow is restricted by stored foods.

 
Power Freeze/Power Cool Functions
 

1. Power Freeze Function

bulletOnce the Power Freeze button is pressed the LED indicator light on the control panel illuminates, however, there will be a delay of 10 secs before the actual operation begins
bulletSelection of the power freeze function will run the compressor and freezer fan for a period of 10 hours
bulletThe output of the ice maker will be increased to the maximum level. This reduces the ice making interval from 90 mins to 55 mins
bulletIf the ice bucket is full before 10 hours of the operation has run, the power freeze function will stop
bulletAfter the Power Freeze operation has finished the LED will go off and the temperature of the compartment will revert back to the stored value.

2. Power Cool Function

bulletOnce the Power Cool button is pressed the LED indicator light on the control panel illuminates, however, there will be a delay of 10 secs before the actual operation begins
bulletSelection of the Power Cool function will run the compressor and refrigerator fan until the compartment temperature reaches - 4°C
bulletThe Power Cool function will run fro a period of 2 ½ hours.

3. Power Cool Function & Power Freeze Function selected together

bulletBoth functions will run simultaneously.

4. After Initial Power On

bulletIf the compartment temperatures for the freezer and refrigerator are - 10°C and 10°C respectively selecting the Power Freeze function will switch the refrigerator fan off and run the freezer fan by itself. This process is reversed if the Power Cool function is selected.
 
Ice & Water Dispenser Functions
 

1. Selection of Cubed Ice; Crushed Ice or Ice-Off

bulletPressing the Ice Type button will scroll through the options of Cubed/Crushed/Ice-Off functions
bulletThe default setting is Cubed Ice
bulletOnce Cubed Ice is selected the Crushed Ice bypass solenoid operates to allow the ice to pass through the Ice Crusher
bulletSelection of Ice-Off will switch off the Ice Maker. Not until either Cubed or Crushed Ice options are selected will the Ice Maker switch back on.

Note

If the Ice-Off option is selected, ice will only be dispensed if there is still ice present in the Ice Bucket. Note also that the Crushed Ice function will not work at this time.

bulletThe Ice Chute door remains open for a period of 5 secs after ice has been dispensed. After this period the SSR will close the door
bulletDo not try and force the Ice Chute door shut.

2. Water Dispenser

bulletPressing the Water Leaver, which is located inside the dispenser recess will dispense the water
bulletThe dispensing of water is controlled solely by the water solenoid located at the rear of the appliance, there is no electronic control for this function.
 
Condenser Fan Motor Delay Function
 
The operation of the Condenser Fan Motor is controlled by the ambient temperature of the surrounding area.
bulletAmbient temperature above 19°C - Condenser Fan operates at the same time that the Compressor starts
bulletAmbient temperature between 16°C - 18°C – There is a 5 min. delay after the start of the Compressor, before the Condenser Fan operates
bulletAmbient temperature below 15°C – Condenser Fan will not operate, regardless of the Compressor being on or not.
 
CoolSelect Zone™ Function
 
bulletThe operation of this function is controlled by the button on the CoolSelect Zone™ drawer
bulletOnce selected the damper, that is situated inside the fan duct is in the open position, this ensures that the refrigerator compartment is cooled to its selected temperature first. Once this stored temperature is reached the damper closes to allow the CoolSelect Zone™ to be cooled.

1. Selecting a function

bulletThe Select button can be used to scroll through the options available
bulletThere are three different options available:
1) Cool – maintains set temperature of refrigerator compartment
2) Chill – maintains a temperature of -1°C in the drawer
3) Soft Freeze – maintains a temperature of -5°C in the drawer

2. Quick Cool Function

bulletOnce selected the LEDs will flash ‘60’ and ‘Min.’, this is the duration of the Quick Cool function, which will be counted down
bulletCancelling this function is done by pressing the Quick Cool, Thaw or Select buttons
bulletOnce finished the drawer will return to Cool function
bulletThe defrost cycle will not start until the Quick Cool function is finished.

3. Thaw Function

bulletOnce pressed the LEDs will scroll through 4; 6; 10 and 12 hour options in sequence
bulletSelect the desired option, which will be counted downCancelling this function is done by pressing the Quick Cool, Thaw or Select buttons
bulletOnce finished the drawer will maintain a temperature of -1°C
bulletWhen the Compressor is running the drawer maintains the selected temperature
bulletOnce the Compressor stops, the Defrost Heater and Refrigerator Fan comes on, the Damper closes to allow the air flow to be directed into the CoolSelect Zone™.
 
Water Filter Indicator Function
 
bulletThe water filter indicator will initially illuminate green
bulletAfter a period of 5 months this will change to orange
bulletAnd finally after 6 months to red
bulletOnce a new filter has been fitted, the indicator will need to be reset
bulletTo reset the indicator press & hold the Ice Type and Child Lock butons for 3 secs
bulletBy pressing the buttons for a period of 5 secs will stop this function from working totally
bulletTo restore this function press the same two buttons fro 3 secs again.
 
Ice Maker Function
 
1. Description of parts
 
 

2. Ice Maker preparation

bulletEnsure that the water supply is connected to the appliance
bulletEnsure that the Ice Bucket is pushed back firmly so that the Ice Guide Lever does not make contact with the back of the bucket
bulletIf there is contact between the bucket and the Ice Guide Lever then the appliance will register that the Ice Bucket is full
bulletIt will take approx. 6 hours before the first batch of ice cubes are produced. However it is better to throw away the first three batches of ice to ensure that the ice used is made from clean water.

3. Initial Operation

bulletAs soon as power is applied the Main PCB will check the status of the Levelling Switch, within 2 secs
bulletIf the levelling switch is not in the off position, the geared motor will operate and rotate the Ice Tray back to the initial starting position
bulletThe ice tray will remain in this position for approx. 2 hours, which is the normal cycle time for ice making
bulletAfter this period the sensor, that is located under the ice tray, will monitor the temperature of the ice tray for a period of 5 mins. If the temperature does not get above -7°C and the Ice full switch has not been activated then the geared motor will rotate the Ice tray so that it will empty the ice into the bucket.

4. Water Supply Function

bulletAfter ejecting the ice the Ice Tray will rotate until it is level
bulletThe filling of the tray with water is controlled by a timed fill, this vale can be adjusted.

5. Ice Production

bulletThe Main PCB will check the temperature of the Ice Tray approx. 90mins from the time the tray was filled with water
bulletAfter this period the sensor, that is located under the ice tray, will monitor the temperature of the ice tray for a period of 5 mins. If the temperature does not get above -7°C and the Ice full switch has not been activated then the geared motor will rotate the Ice tray so that it will empty the ice into the bucket.

6. Test Function

bulletPressing the Test Button, on the underside of the Ice Maker, for a period of 1.5 secs will activate the test mode
bulletThe use of this function can be used to perform the following:

1. Checking the proper function of the Ice Maker
2. Cleaning the Ice Tray
3. Adjusting the water level of the Ice Tray

bulletThe Test Function will only work when the Ice Tray is in the level position and that the Ice Bucket is not full
bulletWhen the water supply is connected the following processes can be checked:

1. The water supply
2. Ice ejection
3. Ice Tray Levelling

7. Ice-Off Function

bulletAs soon as the Ice-Off function is selected by the Ice Type button, the ice making process will stop
bulletHowever, the actual process will not stop until the Ice Tray has been supplied with more water
bulletOnce the Cubed or Crushed Ice is selected, the Main PCB will determine how long the Ice-Off function was on for. If this time is greater than 90 mins and the Ice Tray temperature is ok, then the Ice Ejection process will start.

8. Freezer Door Open Function

bulletOpening of the Freezer Door will stop all processes of the Ice Maker
bulletThe Ice tray will stop moving regardless of the position
bulletThe water supply process will continue until finished
bulletIf the ice tray is in the middle of ice ejecting process, close the freezer for 30 secs and check if the tray is levelled. If it is not levelled it must be faulty.
 
Defrost Function
 
bulletThe Defrost Function is determined by the duration that the Compressor runs
bulletAfter power up the Defrost Function will operate after the Compressor has ran for a period of 4 hours
bulletThe time between defrosts will depend on the ambient temperature; the number of door openings and the duration of these openings
bulletHowever there are set minimum and maximum intervals between defrosts

1. Refrigerator – Minimum 6 hours; Maximum 8 hours
2. Freezer – Minimum 12 hours; Maximum 16 hours

bulletThe duration of the Defrost Function is controlled by the Defrost Sensors - see below:

1. Refrigerator – Heater On – Below 10°C – Heater Off - 17°C
2. Freezer – Heater On – Time Controlled – Heater Off - 10°C

 
Setting Point Shift Function
 
bulletPressing the Freezer Temp. & Power Cool buttons together for approx. 12 secs
bulletOnce activated only the LEDs for displaying the temperature will be illuminated.
 
 
bulletInitial settings for all the functions will be 0
bulletPress the Power Cool or Freezer Temp. to increase/decrease the number of the reference respectively
bulletPress the Power Freeze or Freezer Temp. to increase/decrease the number of the code respectively
bulletThe new setting will be stored in the EEPROM after a period 20 secs.
 
1. Changing Freezer Temperature Sensor Value
 
bulletReference Value = 0
 
e.g. To lower the current temperature of the freezer by -2.5°C, select code no. 5
 
2. Changing Refrigerator Temperature Sensor Value
 
bulletReference Value = 1
 
e.g. To raise the current temperature of the refrigerator by 2.5°C, select code no. 12
 
3. Changing Water level for Ice Tray
 
bulletReference Value = 3
 
e.g. To increase the duration that the water is on to 9 secs, select code no. 6
 
4. Changing the Ice Maker Temperature Sensor Value
 
bulletReference Value = 4
 
e.g. To raise the current temperature of the Ice Maker to 10°C, select code no. 4
 
5. Changing CoolSelect™ Zone Temperature Sensor Value
 
bulletReference Value = 20
 
e.g. To change the current temperature of CoolSelect™ Zone Temperature Sensor to -1.5°C, select code no. 5 (This is to change the default value)
 
Component Load Operation Function
 
bulletPressing Power Freeze & Power Cool buttons together for approx. 6 secs
bulletThe display panel will blink for 2 secs
bulletPress the Fridge Temp. button to access this function, an audible tone will sound
bulletEach illuminated segment corresponds to the value in the table
bulletEach component listed has an output signal from the Main PCB
bulletThis mode will terminate automatically after 30 secs.
 
 
 
bulletOn certain models the Refrigerator Fan only has one speed
